To bib or not to bib…..we’ll leave that up to you.

It’s long overdue, but we’re ready for the next feast!

Alright friends, we here at Wandering Spoon are really sorry for the lack of communication and for almost missing out on a dinner this month.  Well, actually this will be on the first of June so…..  Anyway, things have been hectic for the 3 of us at work but we’re making a go for it.  We’re squeezing in a dinner just for you, our lovely, hungry friends.  So here are the basic details, we’re doing a big ol’ shellfish boil!  Spot prawns are in season and they are just so delcious that we want to share them with all of you.  Clams, mussels, spot prawns, corn, potatoes, chorizo….all thrown into a pot and made into a super sexy feast.  There will be home-made bread and fixings of course.  We threw this one together pretty quick. In fact, we just decided yesterday that we wanted to do a dinner next week, so we’re still working out the details.  I can tell you that dinner will be on TUESDAY, JUNE 1st at 7pm. Reserve your spot asap though.  There are spot prawns involved….this one’s going to fill up fast!  So if interested, you know the drill…leave a comment here with your email address or email us at thewanderingspoon@hotmail.com

Here Piggy Piggy!!!

Mark your calenders, the first official Wandering Spoon dinner is set for Tuesday, April 20th!


So here it is, April 20th marks the first ever Wandering Spoon dinner hosted by your 3 favorite renegade cooks.  We’re not going to give you all the details of the menu but, if you haven’t guessed from the title of this post, WE’RE ROASTING A WHOLE PIG!!!
Mmm mmm mmm!  Roast pig with fixings like buttermilk biscuits, cabbage with crispy bacon, potatoes and dessert to end it with….what more could you ask for?  Dinner will be served family style and will be totally casual, so come dressed down and ready to have a good time feasting with some new friends.

If you want in email us at thewanderingspoon@hotmail.com or leave your address in the comments so we can email you the location closer to the date.  We’ll have to cap this one at 12 people so get your name on the list quick. Oh and ps…dinner will be a mere $50.  Totally worth it in our humble opinions.

The Idea (What we want to do and how we’re going to do it….)

So here it is in a nutshell: we’re going to throw renegade dinners throughout Vancouver BC.

At least once a month the three of us cooks are going to get together and plan a menu.  It will always be something new and seasonal. NO MENU WILL EVER REPEAT ITSELF. It’ll range from things like big family style whole pig roasts with all the fixings to 5 course plated dinners.  The venue will always be changing as well.  Living rooms, banquet halls, restuarants or parks…you never know where you may end up eating dinner.  Regardless, it’ll always be fun.

The way it’s going to work is when we have an idea of what we’re going to cook and when it’ll take place we’ll post that a dinner is on.  So check back regularly or subscribe to this page. If you are interested you can either leave your email address in the comments section or email us at thewanderingspoon@hotmail.com We may or may not reveal what is on the menu, just know it will always be delectable.  A few days before or the day dinner is to take place we will email you the venue and the time.  You will always know the date ahead of time so you can set it aside.  That’s it, that’s all. You show up at the time and place and get ready to eat some delicious food in a fun environment and maybe make some new friends.  The cost will be anywhere between $40-$60 per person to help us cover the cost.  Plus there will be NO CORKAGE FEE (you’ll have to bring your own drinks).  Everyone should eat like a renegade at least once in their life. Why not now and why not with us….the three renegade cooks looking to escape from our stainless steel coffin every once in awhile and have some fun.

THE FIRST DINNER IS IN THE WORKS FOR MID-APRIL SOMETIME.
When we have a date we will let you know. Since this is the first dinner, if you are interested please let us know now. This will help us to determine whether or not this will work.
